Microsoft Teams: Meeting Options categorization

Microsoft Teams is introducing categories within Meeting Options to provide increased clarity and help organizers configure their meetings according to their needs. The categories will be available throughout the meeting lifecycle in Microsoft Teams. The rollout will begin in April 2024 and complete by late-May 2024. Default meeting options are still determined by an org’s IT admin, but organizers and co-organizers can override them for a specific meeting. The categories are only available in the new Teams client during scheduling and web (excluding Safari). The categories are coming to in-meeting Meeting Options later.

Microsoft Teams: View, download, and delete Microsoft OneDrive for Business transcript files

Microsoft Teams will save meeting transcript files in OneDrive for Business for transcription-only meetings. Users can view, download, and delete transcript files from one place instead of two. New Microsoft Outlook for Windows: Copy email as attachment is coming

Microsoft Outlook for Windows will soon allow users to copy an email and attach it to a new email. The rollout will begin in mid-March 2024 and is expected to complete by mid-April 2024. Users can now send longer emails as attachments instead of copying and pasting the entire thread. No action is needed to prepare for this rollout, but users should be notified of the change.

Automatic application updates for new Microsoft Teams Rooms Windows devices

Microsoft Teams Rooms for Windows app will automatically update to new application and Windows updates during initial setup for new devices. This feature will be available worldwide from mid to late April 2024 and will affect new devices running app version 4.20 and later. No action is required from users to prepare for this rollout.

Product transitions to the cloud.microsoft domain – February 2024

Microsoft products and scenarios are now available at the cloud.microsoft domain, in parallel with the previous domains. The previous domains will be redirected to cloud.microsoft in the coming months. Users will be redirected to applications under cloud.microsoft domains gradually and automatically. No specific user action is required. Admins should ensure that connections to *.cloud.microsoft are not blocked from their clients and enterprise networks.
