Printer manufacturers are in the process of creating Print Support Applications (PSA) to add custom print finishing options and workflows, such as adding a watermark or accounting code to customize the print experience. PSA APIs are already available on Windows 11. This item will bring the power of PSAs to Windows 10 as well. To

Universal Print: PIN Release Support for Windows 10

People will be able to set a PIN for every print job. At the printer they enter the PIN to release their print job, supporting sustainability goals by preventing the consumption of power, paper and toner, if the print job is not completed. This functionality is already supported on Windows 11. Supported printers can be found on the Microsoft docs under More info link.

Universal Print: Delegated Admin Support

IT Pros will be able to delegate rights to administrate a select group of printers to another person. This is very useful; in case a branch office team needs the ability to manage the printers at their location.

Universal Print: Universal Print Service General Availability for V1.0

Universal Print is generally available in March 2021. This
promotes the existing (Microsoft Graph) beta API surface to v1.0. ISV and
IHV partners can build more confidently on a Universal Print API surface that
fully supported, stable, and immutable.  Print management, printer share
management, print job management, 3rd party integration, reporting and service
configuration.
