Enhanced Admin Controls for Viva Insights

We have added new capabilities for Admins in Viva Insights: Admins can allow end users to opt out of having their user metrics made available in advanced insights line-level query results, and Admins can now manage the new Viva Insights web experience in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or by using PowerShell.

Focus Mode in Viva Insights Teams App

The focus time experience in Microsoft Teams is being enhanced for users with Viva Insights subscriptions. Users that have booked time through focus plan will receive a notification as their focus time nears. Upon clicking the notification, the user will enter a new focus mode experience. Focus mode will allow users to set a timer to balance short bursts of productivity with breaks, manage their task list, and tap into mindfulness exercises during their breaks.

Viva Insights will stop processing Window 10 or 11 Activity history

Viva Insights will stop processing Windows 10 or 11 application activity history data to compute personal insights such as time spent in documents even if both users and organization’s IT administrator opt users in.

Microsoft Viva: Viva Insights web app in Government Community Cloud (GCC)

A new web interface for the Viva Insights app will be discoverable via the web, and the Microsoft 365 app launcher on Office.com. This will offer an additional way to access the personal productivity and wellbeing experiences currently in the Viva Insights app in Teams, and will include a link to the MyAnalytics dashboard for users who want to reflect on insights related to their work habits.

Microsoft Viva: Recurring Time Booking for Breaks, Learning, and Message Catch Up in Viva Insights

Microsoft Viva Insights is introducing new recurring time booking options to make it easier to take regular breaks during the workday, protect time to meet weekly learning objectives, and have daily time to catch up on emails and chats. These booking options will be accessible to the user through the Briefing email sent at the end of the week as well as through the Viva Insights app in Teams.

The feature is only available to those with a Microsoft Viva Insights subscription.

Quiet Time Settings in Viva, Teams, and Outlook

To help create better boundaries and protect personal time, Viva Insights will offer the ability to configure quiet time to silence notifications from Outlook and Teams mobile applications, outside of working hours. Users will receive personalized insights through the Viva Insights app in Teams and will be able to set quiet time directly from Teams mobile and Outlook mobile applications.

Inline Suggestions Available While Composing an Email or Meeting Invitation in Outlook on the Web

While composing an email or a meeting invitation in Outlook on the web, users will see inline suggestions from Microsoft Viva Insights to help improve productivity and wellbeing. These complement the inline suggestions they already see while reading emails and meeting invites. Inline suggestions are also available in Outlook for Windows. Inline suggestions will be available to all Microsoft 365 users with these Service plans.

Daily Briefing Emails for users with Outlook language setting as null

The Briefing email from Microsoft Viva helps users start their day on track by surfacing information to prepare for upcoming meetings, follow up on outstanding tasks as well as protect time for independent work. Currently, the Briefing email is available for Microsoft 365 Enterprise users with Exchange Online mailboxes in these languages.

Some eligible Exchange Online users may not receive the briefing email today as they do not have their language preference set in Outlook. Starting in mid-May, the Briefing email will be sent in English to users who have their Outlook language setting as ‘null’. Users will receive an email for 30 days with a note requesting them to update their Outlook language preference. If users do not provide a language preference, the email will be discontinued after 30 days.
