Ink and highlighter in Excel for the web

With this update, end users will be able to use the ink capabilities and highlighter to annotate in Excel for the web.

When this will happen

• Targeted release (organization) began in December 2020
• Standard release rollout begins late April and should be complete by late May 2021

How this will affect your organization

When using Excel for the web, end users will see a new Draw tab in the ribbon.

In addition, when using Excel on the web, end users will now see marked up spreadsheets. Prior to this update, Excel on the web did not display ink contained in a spreadsheet.

What you need to do to prepare

You might want to notify your users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
