Microsoft Edge management service is a single portal for admins to manage the Edge browser. It is a simple and easy-to-manage experience. Admins will be able to configure all Edge browser policies for their organization in a configuration profile and set-up the browser to use these settings.

Creation of Default Notes tab in new standard channels in Teams

As communicated in MC496248 (January ’23) Microsoft Teams users will soon get a “Notes” tab, powered by OneNote, added by default on the tabs bar across the top on creation of new standard channels for note-taking capabilities. Earlier this capability was powered by Wiki, which is set to retire from Teams based on the announcement published in Feb.

Microsoft Intune: iOS Web enrollment

Apple’s device enrollment is the most common form of enrollment for BYO.  This has relied on our Company Portal app but that added extra auth prompts, app downloads, and steps.  Web Enrollment is our new streamlined BYO enrollment flow.  Leveraging JIT-registration, web enrollment is a fast and easy way for users to get productive securely.

Microsoft Stream: View video analytics in playback experience for government clouds

This feature will allow users to view analytics for videos stored in OneDrive or SharePoint for which they have view permissions. The analytics are shown as an overlay during video playback and can be toggled on or off by selecting the ‘Analytics’ side pane. Users will be able to see stats showing the number of views and viewers for the last 90 days along with viewership retention which indicate the parts of the video that are most and least viewed.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Keyword highlight support for document trainable classifiers

Highlight the keywords/phrases that contribute significantly to trainable classifier results, so that users can more easily understand the classification of the documents and use these insights to inform creation of DLP policies.

Microsoft Secure Score is retiring the option to share recommended action details through Microsoft Planner

The option to share recommended actions details from Microsoft Secure Score using Microsoft Planner is being retired.

You can continue to share recommended action details through a link, email or Microsoft Teams.

SharePoint Syntex Per User License End of Sale Notice

On June 30th, 2023 we’re retiring the SharePoint Syntex license. SharePoint Syntex was provided as a per user license that allowed access to Syntex services. Syntex is an add-on license and requires users also to have a license for Microsoft 365.

On July 1st, 2023, customers will no longer be able to purchase the per user license and will need to opt-in to Microsoft Syntex pay-as-you-go billing to continue using existing and new Syntex features. If you have current Syntex per user licenses, these will remain available along with its individual features through the duration of your term. You will be able to renew, if elected, prior to the end of your term.

Your To Do users will no longer be able to join shared lists from consumer accounts

In Microsoft To Do, users from your tenant can be members of lists that are shared with them through consumer accounts (sharing accounts can only be consumer accounts and not accounts from other organizations). We are retiring this feature in the near future.

Conditional Access and OneNote iPad for features that use Webview

Note: If your organization does not use the OneNote iPad app you can safely disregard this message.

The OneNote iPad app leverages a technology called WebView for certain features, such as Meeting Details. However, when Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Conditional Access, as part of Microsoft Entra, is applied to the user of this device, WebView features are not supported, and conditional access checks will fail. This means that, the feature will be inactive and not available for use.
