Microsoft Copilot: Support for referencing PDF files in PowerPoint

Microsoft Copilot introduces the ability to create PowerPoint presentations from PDF files. This feature requires a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and will be globally available between late May and mid-June 2024. No admin action is needed for the rollout. Roadmap ID: 396344.

With the Create from File capability of Microsoft PowerPoint, Copilot will now be able to create a new presentation based on a PDF file.

A Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license is required to use this feature.

When this will happen:

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late May 2024 and expect to complete by mid-June 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

In addition to the existing capability of creating a new presentation based off of a Word document, users of PowerPoint will now be able to ask Copilot to create a presentation based on a PDF file.

What you need to do to prepare:

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout.
