Microsoft OneDrive: Additional file types to filter your lists of files

OneDrive on the web will have new file type filters in July 2024, including OneNote, Microsoft Lists, Videos, Loop, Photos, Whiteboard, and PowerBI. No admin action is required for this update.

You will now be able to select from additional file types to filter your lists of files in Microsoft OneDrive on the web.

When this will happen:

Targeted Release: We began rolling out early July 2024 and expect to complete by mid-July 2024.

General availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): We will begin rolling out mid-July 2024 and expect to complete late July 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

You will see a new dropdown menu next to the filter pills in Home, Shared, People, Meetings, and Favorites views. You’ll be able to select from the following file types:

  • OneNote
  • Microsoft Lists
  • Videos
  • Loop
  • Photos
  • Whiteboard
  • PowerBI

What you need to do to prepare:

This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
