Hotpatch for client comes to Windows 11 Enterprise
Protect your organization faster with hotpatch updates for Windows 11 Enterprise, version 24H2. This public preview offers the same level of security patching as the standard monthly security updates without restarting devices or disrupting the users. To get the latest new features, eligible devices will install the standard monthly security update and restart the first month of each quarter. You can use a new Windows quality update policy in Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopatch to opt devices in or out. To learn more, read Hotpatch for client comes to Windows 11 Enterprise.

When will this happen:
Hotpatch updates for Windows 11 Enterprise, version 24H2 are already in public preview.
How this will affect your organization:
Your organization can get compliant faster. Eligible devices can get a complete set of OS security patches while minimizing user disruptions. Devices that aren’t eligible or opted in to hotpatching will continue to receive the standard monthly security updates.
What you need to do to prepare:
Check whether your organization has all of the following to be eligible for hotpatching:
- A Microsoft subscription that includes Windows Enterprise E3 or E5 (e.g. Microsoft 365 A3/A5 or Microsoft 365 F3); or a Windows 365 Enterprise subscription
- Targeted devices running Windows 11 Enterprise, version 24H2 (Build 26100.2033 or later)
- Microsoft Intune
