Admins can use Billing Policies to manage Copilot Pay-as-you-go services, controlling usage and costs by linking agent usage to departments and user groups. This feature will be available globally from early to mid-May 2025. Admins need to create billing policies and link them to specific Copilot scenarios.

With Pay-as-you-go Billing Policies, administrators can easily manage and control the usage and costs associated with Copilot Pay-as-you-go services. This feature allows admins connect agent usage to specific departments, and control user group access to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. What you need to do to prepare:

Admins must create billing policies to assign Azure subscription and user scope. Admins must also link one or more Pay-as-you-go policies to Copilot scenarios like M365 Copilot Chat to allow the end-users that are part of the billing policy to use work-grounded declarative agents in M365 Copilot Chat.
