Advanced Message Encryption – Office 365 Message Encryption portal access logs (preview)

Coming soon to public preview, admins can enable logging of external user activities accessing the Office 365 Message Encryption Portal to retrieve encrypted mail.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 88914.

When this will happen:

Rollout will begin in late March and is expected to be complete by mid-April.

How this will affect your organization:

This feature will enable logging of external user activities accessing the Office 365 Message Encryption Portal to retrieve encrypted mail. These logs can be retrieved using the Audit Logs functionality in the Microsoft 365 compliance center. You can also access these audit logs through the management API.

This feature is not available by default unless you have enabled auditing.

Once the feature is in preview, you can enable the portal logs using Exchange Powershell:

  • Set-IrmConfiguration -EnablePortalTrackingLogs $true
