Microsoft Syntex Content Assembly Pay-As-You-Go updates
We are rolling out the changes to enable pay-as-you-go billing for Microsoft Syntex Content Assembly.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 124812
When this will happen:
Targeted Release: Rollout will begin in late May 2023 and is expected to be complete by mid-June 2023.
Standard Release: Rollout will begin in mid-June 2023 and is expected to complete by late June 2023.
How this will affect your organization:
Admins will need to enter Azure Billing details before enabling Syntex in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Content Assembly will be enabled by default. This will allow all users to create templates and then create documents from those templates across all document libraries in the tenant. Admins can disable the content assembly capability which will completely disable all Content Assembly services. With this change, Content Assembly will be a paid product and the organization will be charged based on the number of documents generated.
If you have existing Syntex seat licenses:
What you need to do to prepare:
You may want to notify users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
- You will be able to continue creating modern templates and generating documents from SharePoint using those templates.
- If you are using the “Generate documents using Microsoft Syntex (preview)” Power Automate action, you will be able to continue using it until July 15, 2023, after which you will be required to enter your Azure billing details and enable Content Assembly to continue automating document generation using the Power Automate action. You will be charged for the number of documents generated using Power Automate. You will not be charged for number of documents generated using the document generating capability exposed in SharePoint document libraries.
