Windows Autopatch availability within Microsoft Intune Admin Center
Windows Autopatch will be available as an additional option in Microsoft Intune admin center. You may enroll into Windows Autopatch and register any devices not currently under management by Microsoft Managed Desktop. We do not currently support devices included in both Windows Autopatch and Microsoft Managed Desktop services.
When this will happen:
This will take place starting October 5, 2023.
How this will affect your organization:
There will be no impact to your organization if you do not enroll into Windows Autopatch. With this option, you will now be able to enroll into Windows Autopatch, without raising a ticket.
You can find details of what happens in the tenant at enrollment at Changes made at Windows Autopatch enrollment.
What you need to do to prepare:
You must take action in the Tenant Management blade for the Windows Autopatch option to be available on Microsoft Managed Desktop tenants. The Tenant management blade can be found by navigating to Tenant administration > Microsoft Managed Desktop > Tenant management. Details of the specific action can be found at Maintain the Microsoft Managed Desktop environment | Microsoft Learn. Once you have completed the above action, the Windows Autopatch option will appear within 24 hours.
If you have any questions or concerns, or need assistance, file a service request by visiting the Microsoft Intune admin center.
