Visio will be available soon as a Teams Personal App. There are no changes to the existing file open behavior, however there are new abilities that the Visio Personal App can provide. Additionally, this change comes with a number of UX improvements to the Office ribbon in Teams to provide a decluttered experience consistent with Office for the Web.

Introduces the Shape Data task pane in Visio Online. Plan 0 users can view Shape Data in Edit Mode. Subscribers (Plan 1 and 2) can update existing shape data fields for Shapes.
Visio will be available as a personal app, or private workspace, in Microsoft Teams. With a private workspace, users will be able to view and edit Visio files in a central location without leaving Teams. When using the Teams desktop app, users will be able to use the Pop out app option to open Visio in a separate window, allowing users to continue using Teams chat, call, collaboration, and meeting capabilities.
Users with a Visio Plan 1 or Visio Plan 2 license will be able to create additional business diagrams from a blank drawing using four new Business stencils in Visio for the web.
Create BPMN-compliant processes with BPMN 2.0 shapes in Visio for the web. This feature will be available for users with a Visio Plan 2 license.

The new Format Options pane in Visio web app brings new shape formatting properties including dimensions, fill, and line formatting right next to your content. This release extends the availability of the Visio web app in Microsoft 365 to GCC, GCC-High, DoD, and other sovereign clouds. To help make diagramming more accessible, we’ve brought core Visio capabilities to Microsoft 365 commercial subscribers, enabling anyone to create, edit, share, and coauthor professional diagrams with team members across the organization.
This release extends the availability of the new stencil for shapes in your document in Visio for the web (feature ID 68375) to GCC, GCC-High, DoD, and other sovereign clouds. The new Shapes in the Document stencil automatically saves the shapes you’ve added to your diagram, so you can quickly access them and use them again without having to search through multiple stencils. This feature will be available for users with a Visio Plan 2 license.
