Enhanced eDiscovery Premium APIs

What and Why

To align with the updated Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Premium) user interface, several eDiscovery APIs are being enhanced and promoted from Beta to V1. These updates introduce new parameters and export structures that improve search accuracy, provide deeper insights, and streamline workflows for compliance and legal teams. This change is based on customer feedback and aims to deliver a more consistent and powerful experience across UI and API surfaces.

Rollout Schedule

  • General Availability (Worldwide): Rolling out now – Early August 2025
  • General Availability (GCC, GCC High, DoD): Rolling out now – Late August 2025

  • The following APIs will move from Beta to V1 and become generally available:
    • Search Estimate Statistics
    • Search Export Report
    • Search Export Result
    • Search Add to ReviewSet
    • ReviewSet Export

  • New parameters added to Search Estimate Statistics API:
    • includeRefiners
    • includeQueryStats
    • includeUnindexedStats
    • advancedIndexing
    • locationsWithoutHits
  • New parameters added to ReviewSet APIs:
    • CloudAttachmentVersion
    • DocumentVersion
    • ItemsToInclude
    • Additional data options: AdvancedIndexing, HTMLTranscripts
  • Export structure updated to align with the new Purview portal experience.
  • All other APIs remain unchanged.
