Microsoft 365 admin center: New Exchange Web Services Usage report

New Exchange Web Services (EWS) usage report will be available in the Microsoft 365 admin center by early April 2025. It provides insights into third-party applications using EWS, detailing specific actions and call volumes. No admin action is required before the rollout. See Roadmap ID 469510 for more details.

This message only applies to organizations that have Microsoft Exchange Online licenses assigned in their tenant.

Coming soon: A new Exchange Web Services (EWS) usage report in the Microsoft 365admin center that provides insights into the non-Microsoft (third-party) applicationsin your tenant that use EWS. The report provides detailed information on thespecific actions performed by these applications and their call volumes over a selected period. The new report enhances your ability tounderstand EWS activity prior to EWS deprecation in Microsoft Exchange Online.

When this will happen:

General Availability (Worldwide): We began rolling out late March 2025 and expect to complete by early April 2025.

How this will affect your organization:

The new report will be available by default in Microsoft 365 admin center > M365 Activity reports > Exchange usage tab > EWS usage.

What you need to do to prepare:

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified dates with no admin action required before the rollout. Review your current configuration to assess the impact on your organization.
