Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps: “Non Blockable” Applications
In order to prevent critical security services downtime, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps will not support the ability to natively block the specific services from its product (not from the UI nor via policies).
When this will happen:
This change will take place on May 24, 2023.
How this affects your organization:
Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps will not support the ability to natively block the following services:
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
- Microsoft Defender Security Center
- Microsoft 365 Security Center
- Microsoft Defender for Identity
- Microsoft Azure Information Protection
- Microsoft Entra Permissions Management
- Microsoft Conditional Access Application Control
- Microsoft Secure Score
- Microsoft 365 compliance center
- Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Support
- Microsoft AD FS Help
- Microsoft Support
- Microsoft Online Services
Note: If one of the above applications is already blocked in your tenant: the “unsanctioned” tag will be removed, and the application will no longer be blocked (from Defender for Endpoint or blocking script).
What you can do to prepare:
You may consider updating your documentation as needed.
