Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention: Performance improvement for Microsoft Teams DLP policies

We’re rolling out an update for Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention to improve the performance of DLP policies to block sensitive information from being shared via Teams chat and channel messages.

When this will happen:

Rollout will begin in mid-October and is expected to be complete by mid-November.

How this will affect your organization:

With this performance update, we’re improving the speed of detecting and classifying sensitive content shared via Teams to enable faster enforcement of DLP policies. As this update rolls out, admins will see a reduction in latency between detection of policy violations and enforcement of defined policy actions (i.e., delaying or blocking sensitive content from being shared).

What you need to do to prepare:

No action is needed to enable this update.
