New AI-powered themes and sentiment analysis in Viva Engage community analytics

Viva Engage community analytics will gain AI-powered themes and sentiment analysis by August 2025, helping admins identify discussion trends and sentiments. This feature is enabled by default for Viva Engage premium users, managed via Viva Feature Access Management, and accessible only to community and network admins.

Introduction

We’re enhancing Viva Engage community analytics with AI-generated themes and sentiment analysis to help admins better understand engagement trends. This update enables community admins to quickly identify popular discussion topics and the sentiment behind them, supporting more informed communication strategies.

This capability is part of the broader improvements announced earlier this year and associated with Roadmap ID 168626.

When this will happen

We plan to begin general availability (GA) rollout at the end of July 2025 and expect to complete rollout by the end of August 2025.

How this affects your organization

Once rolled out, community admins will be able to view AI-generated themes and sentiment insights for the communities they manage. Network admins and corporate communicators will also have access to this data in public communities. This feature is not visible to non-admin users.

Similar to other AI summarization features, this capability is managed through Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) and is on by default unless otherwise disabled. What you can do to prepare

No action is required. The rollout will occur automatically across tenants with Viva Engage premium licensing. Admins who wish to enable or manage access to this feature can do so via VFAM settings.
