To view all your tag mentions, select the tag mentions filter in your activity feed. The ‘@Mentions’ filter allows you to catch up quickly on personal mentions, while the ‘Tag mentions’ filter helps you catch up on the Tag mentions you are part of.

Microsoft Teams: Forwarding loop components

Microsoft Teams now allows forwarding loop components in chats and channels. Users can forward messages with loop components using the ‘more actions’ menu and set permissions for recipients. The feature is rolling out from early January to early February 2025 and requires no admin action.

Microsoft Teams: Automatic association of BYOD rooms and peripherals

Microsoft Teams will soon automate the association of peripherals to BYOD rooms using meeting room invite data, enhancing user experience with features like auto-selection of audio/video devices and shared display mode. Rollout begins mid-January 2025 for Targeted Release and late January for General Availability. No admin action is required before rollout, but it’s recommended to review room inventory and encourage users to book rooms and plug in peripherals. This change is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 469495.

Update to Get-CsDialPlan, Get-CsOnlineUser, and Get-CsUserPolicyAssignment cmdlet in the Teams PowerShell Module

Starting January 2025, the Get-CsDialPlan cmdlet will be deprecated, along with the DialPlan attribute from Get-CsOnlineUser and LocationProfile attribute from Get-CsUserPolicyAssignment. Organizations using Microsoft Teams Phone services should prepare for these changes, which require no admin action but may necessitate updates to documentation and automations.

Update to Get-CsPhoneNumberAssignment

The Get-CsPhoneNumberAssignment cmdlet’s page size limit is being updated to a maximum of 1,000 numbers per query. Starting January 6, 2025, requests exceeding this limit will result in an error. Organizations should adjust their requests accordingly to avoid issues.

Microsoft Teams: Customize the location of notifications

Microsoft Teams is introducing customizable notification locations with options for bottom right, top right, bottom left, or top left of the screen, starting mid-January 2025 for Targeted Release and late January 2025 for General Availability. This feature will be enabled by default. No admin action is required before rollout.

A new feature in the Teams Admin Center allows exporting managed apps data in CSV format, starting early December 2024, to aid in reporting and management. Admins should update training and documentation accordingly.

Microsoft Teams will soon allow seamless sharing of apps and Microsoft 365 Copilot agents, with new features enhancing the sharing experience. Rollout begins mid-December 2024, with general availability by late January 2025. No Copilot license is needed to share, but is required to use apps and agents.

Microsoft Teams Phone: Shared call history on devices

Microsoft Teams Phone will introduce a Shared call history feature, allowing users to view call history on shared lines. The rollout has been updated to begin from mid-March 2025, with completion by late March 2025 for Worldwide and GCC, mid to late April for GCC High, and mid to late May for DoD. Users should update Teams phone devices and set up shared lines to prepare.

Microsoft Teams: Record a video and share in channels

Microsoft Teams will soon allow users to record video clips directly in Teams channels. This feature, previously only available in chat, enables recording of self, screen, or audio to post or reply in channels. Rollout begins early January 2025, with full availability by late January 2025. No admin action needed.
