Microsoft Teams: Watermark for anonymous meeting join

Microsoft Teams will soon allow anonymous users to join meetings with watermarked access to all content. Rollout begins early November 2024, with full availability by mid-November. Admins’ watermark policies remain unchanged, while users will see a watermark of their entered guest name. The feature is default but can be altered via PowerShell script.

Improved search for content around people

Microsoft 365 is introducing an improved search feature that allows users to find content related to specific people by typing their name in the search bar. This update, associated with Roadmap ID 421189, will roll out from early to late November 2024. No action is required to prepare for this update.

Microsoft Teams: Stream Custom Agent and Bot Responses

Custom engine agents and Teams bots will soon stream responses, offering real-time updates and incremental delivery of replies, enhancing user experience. Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook: Name pronunciation on the profile card

A name pronunciation feature is coming to Microsoft Teams and Outlook, allowing users to record and share the pronunciation of their names on their profile cards. This promotes inclusiveness and will be available from mid-November 2024 to mid-February 2025. Admins can enable it in Microsoft Graph.

Microsoft Teams: Audio support for screen sharing in immersive events

We’re adding audio support for screen sharing in Microsoft Mesh. Presenters will now be able to choose whether they’d like to include system audio when starting a screen share in a Mesh event. This feature is available for presenters in Mesh with a Teams Premium license.

Microsoft Teams: Shifts Graph APIs in beta moved to production (v1.0)

The Shifts Graph APIs for Microsoft Teams are moving from beta to production, enhancing stability and reliability. This transition is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 422813 and will occur from mid to late November 2024. Developers are advised to migrate to the production endpoints and update their applications.

New Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business Call Hold Synchronization

Call hold synchronization between Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business is improving. When a call is active in one service and another call is answered in the other, the ongoing call will be placed on hold. This feature requires the new Microsoft Teams client version 24261.1100.3128.2662 or greater and will roll out worldwide from mid to late October 2024, with specific dates for GCC, GCC High, and DoD. Organizations must enable this feature by adjusting group policy registry keys.
