Microsoft Teams: Shared call history for call delegation on Teams phone devices

Call delegators and their delegates can now view shared call history records for the shared line directly on their Teams phone devices. This enhancement promotes greater transparency and collaboration. All delegates associated with a user will be able to monitor incoming and outgoing calls for the shared line, irrespective of their participation in the call.

Microsoft Teams: Meeting organizers can turn off copying or forwarding of live captions, transcript, and recap for meetings (Premium)

We are expanding the existing ‘Turn off copying or forwarding of meeting chat’ control for meeting organizers to include live captions, transcription, and meeting recap. With this change, meeting organizers with eligible licenses will see a control called ‘Turn off copying and forwarding of meeting chat, live captions, and transcript’ in the meeting options. When this control is enabled, meeting participants won’t be able to copy the meeting chat, live captions, live transcript, or any insights generated from intelligent meeting recap.

Microsoft Teams: Voice isolation will be available for macOS desktops

Voice isolation feature for Microsoft Teams will be available on macOS desktops starting early October 2024, enhancing call clarity by suppressing background noise. Admins must enable specific policies for use. Rollout will be automatic, and users can enroll their voice profiles now in preparation.

The Microsoft Mesh app on PC now supports guest access for events, allowing external users to join with a Mesh license. Microsoft Teams: Increase in meeting passcodes length for added security

Microsoft Teams is increasing meeting passcodes from 6 to 8 characters for enhanced security, starting late October 2024. This change won’t affect internal usage, only external users joining with a Meeting ID and passcode will need to use longer passcodes. No admin action required.

Microsoft Teams: Block a user for your organization

Microsoft Teams is introducing a block user feature to prevent malicious users from contacting an organization again. This feature, associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 411138, will be available worldwide in early November 2024. Admins can block users, preventing 1:1 and group chats with them. It’s off by default and can be enabled in external access settings.

Microsoft Teams apps and Microsoft Copilot extensions: New security and certification information

New Microsoft Teams apps and Copilot extensions will provide admins with security and certification information for compliance assessment. This feature, available in the Teams and Microsoft 365 admin centers, will include Microsoft 365 certification outcomes and ISV-submitted data. It will roll out worldwide from mid-October to mid-November 2024 and is on by default. No admin action is required before the rollout.
