Microsoft Teams is improving image viewing in chat, allowing users to view and cycle through multiple images. This update will roll out from mid-September to mid-October 2024 and will be available by default. Organizations may update their training and documentation accordingly.

Teams displays must be updated to version 1449/1.0.95.2024062804 before September 30, 2024, due to the retirement of legacy services infrastructure for chat messaging. Users should utilize manual or automatic updates via the Teams admin center to avoid disruptions. Automatic updates will occur outside normal business hours.

Cloud IntelliFrame, the video framing feature that enhances the visibility of people in the room for online meeting attendees, is now available for Teams mobile users when they join a meeting that has participants in a Teams Rooms on Windows.

Admins can designate an email address for receiving ‘Report a problem’ submissions from users in Teams Rooms on Android. The email address can be set through device settings and the Teams admin center.

Users can rate how likely they are to recommend Microsoft Teams Rooms from 1 to 5 as well as provide additional comments on Teams Rooms on Android devices.

This policy enables IT admins to block Copilot responses that might infer emotions, make evaluations, discuss personal traits, and use context to deduce answers. When this setting is applied it restricts copilot’s ability to make inferences or evaluations about people or groups when prompted to do so by users. Users cannot disable this setting. The setting applies to Copilot in Teams meetings.

Admins can switch the screens of Teams Rooms on Android
devices in dual display mode remotely, correcting front-of-room display
issues without physical support. The screen swap control is accessible in
device settings and the Teams admin center.

Microsoft Teams phone devices will soon allow non-touch phone users to customize speed dial using line keys and sidecars. This feature, part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 411577, will roll out from mid-October to late December 2024, depending on the region. It will be enabled by default and requires the latest application update.

The Microsoft Teams admin center will soon allow the deployment of location-based frontline teams with flexible membership, where admins can use dynamic rules for automatic updates and team owners can manage members. This rollout, associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 410774, will begin in early October 2024 and is expected to be completed by mid-November 2024. It will be on by default with no required admin action before the rollout.
