Microsoft Teams: Voting and archiving questions in Teams Q&A feed

Microsoft Teams is rolling out a feature for meeting organizers to enable attendee voting on questions and archiving questions from the Q&A feed. This is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 398445 and will be available worldwide by late September 2024. Organizers should be notified to prepare for these updates.

Microsoft Teams: Videos in town halls will display without cropping

Microsoft Teams will update its town hall video display to a “fit to frame” view with no cropping, retaining a 16:9 aspect ratio. Rollout begins mid-August 2024 for Targeted Release and late August 2024 for General Availability. No admin action is required. Users should be informed of the change.

Microsoft Teams: Notification in Activity feed and banner when intelligent meeting recap is ready

Intelligent meeting recap users will receive a notification in Teams Activity feed and banner when intelligent meeting recap is ready. Clicking on the notification in Activity feed will take users right to the intelligent meeting recap experience, which will be visible to the right of the Activity feed. Users can configure their notification settings in Teams settings > Notifications and activity > Apps > Meeting Recap to control where the notification is surfaced (Activity and banner, Activity only, Off) as well as which meetings have notifications enabled (for only meetings with RSVP selection of “Follow,” or all other meetings, or both).

Education IT admins can now create team templates from Microsoft Teams admin center. As an admin, you can use templates to easily deploy consistent teams across your organization. With templates, your users can quickly create rich collaboration spaces with predefined settings, channels, and apps.

Microsoft Teams: Local PTZ for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows will provide native Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) controls for connected cameras that support this capability. The feature will initially contain limited support for cameras with mechanical/optical PTZ, with digital PTZ to come in the future.

Microsoft Teams: Native controls for Group Framing, Active Speaker and Edge Composed IntelliFrame

Users will be able to toggle certain camera capabilities provided by the camera OEMs natively on Teams Rooms on Windows. Capabilities covered with this feature includes group framing, active speaker framing, and edge composed IntelliFrame.

Microsoft Teams: Sensitivity label support for town hall and webinars

This feature will now allow event organizers to set sensitivity labels for town halls and webinars. These labels are visible to organizers when creating an event instance once selected, and notify organizers if the details of the event being created are not valid for the selected sensitivity.

Microsoft Teams: Download town hall and webinar Q&As to CSV

Microsoft Teams will soon allow town hall and webinar organizers to download Q&A sessions as CSV files. This feature will be globally available from mid-August to early September 2024 and will be accessible by default on Teams for Desktop on PC and Mac. Organizers can access the report under the ‘Reports’ section after the event. No admin action is required for this rollout.

Microsoft Teams: Text and UI resizing for Teams Rooms on Windows

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows will soon allow text and UI resizing through display scaling settings, enhancing accessibility. This feature, part of Teams Rooms licenses, requires app version 5.1 and supports various scaling combinations for different resolutions. Rollout begins early August 2024, with completion by mid-August. No admin action is required before the rollout.
