Microsoft Teams: Office 365 Connectors feature retires starting August 15, 2024

The Microsoft Teams Office 365 Connectors feature will be retired between August 15, 2024, and January 1, 2025. Users are advised to switch to the Workflows app in Teams for similar functionality. New connector creation will be blocked from August 15, 2024, and existing connectors will stop working from October 1, 2024. No admin action is required for this change. Users should be notified and directed to relevant support articles for guidance.

Microsoft Teams: Automatic location updates on bookable desks

Microsoft Teams is introducing automatic location updates on bookable desks to simplify updating work locations. This feature will be globally available from early to late August 2024. Admins can enable this at the tenant level, and users can activate it in Teams settings.

Microsoft Teams: Lobby experience for external presenters in town hall and webinar

Microsoft Teams is updating the lobby experience for external presenters in town halls and webinars. Unauthenticated external guests will now wait in the lobby where organizers can approve or deny access. This rollout begins early July 2024 and requires no admin action but recommends informing event organizers.

Classic Microsoft Teams: Uninstallation paused for Windows only

Automatic uninstallation of classic Microsoft Teams for Windows is paused due to an issue affecting the Teams Meeting Add-in in Outlook. Impacted users can use the Teams Calendar as a workaround and refer to Microsoft Learn for troubleshooting steps. Manual uninstallation guidance is also provided.

AUs are a way to delegate admin roles and delegate administration to a subset of users in your organization, based on attributes such as department, location, or business unit. Microsoft Teams: New preapproval policies for RSC permissions

Microsoft Teams introduces a public preview of preapproval policies for RSC permissions, enabling admins to control user consent for RSC on an app-by-app basis. Rollout begins June 24, 2024, for Targeted Release and mid-September 2024 for General Availability. Admins can learn to manage these policies via PowerShell cmdlets. No action is required for the rollout.
