You can now ask Copilot in chat and channels to respond to questions regarding a conversation in a specific time period, for example: last month.
The “Notify when available” feature in Microsoft Teams notifies users when a colleague is available. It can be activated via the chat list or the “People” section in settings. Rollout begins mid-May 2024 for Targeted Release and late May 2024 for General Availability, with no admin action required. Users can manage or unsubscribe from notifications in settings.
You can change the sound of your notifications to help you stay focused, prioritize quickly and avoid distractions. You can as well make urgent notifications and priority contact notifications more prominent. You can also mute notification sounds when you are busy or in a meeting.
Channel cards will provide you quick overview of key information about what is happening within the channel, including who is in the channel and the purpose of the channel.
Microsoft Teams will introduce custom emojis and reactions, allowing users to upload images or GIFs. Each tenant can add up to 5,000 custom emojis. The feature will be available by default, with rollout starting late June 2024. Admins can manage this feature through the Teams Admin Center.
Microsoft Teams is introducing live closed captions for the Walkie Talkie app, aiding frontline workers in noisy environments. This feature will be available in June 2024, with real-time voice-to-text captions in selected languages, displayed on the Walkie Talkie app’s home screen. Admins cannot disable this feature. Users should be informed to prepare for this update.
Microsoft Teams is enhancing hybrid meetings with speaker recognition technology for all Teams Rooms, using voiceprints to identify participants. This feature will roll out worldwide by late June 2024, and organizations can prepare by setting up voice profiles and enabling the feature for supported hardware.
