Microsoft Teams: Updates to sharing app content in a meeting

Microsoft Teams is introducing updates to app sharing in meetings, with a Public Developer Preview in mid-April 2024 and General Availability in mid-May 2024. New features include one-click sharing for non-collaborative apps and the ability for developers to enable sharing of specific app parts. No user education is required for the rollout.

Microsoft Teams: Meeting recordings are now saved in organizer’s Microsoft OneDrive

Microsoft Teams meeting recordings will now be saved to the organizer’s OneDrive by default, with rollout dates varying from mid-May to late August 2024, depending on the service availability. Admins can use PowerShell policy ‘TeamsRecordingRollOutPolicy’ for special cases. No significant user impact is expected, but admins may need to update documentation.

Microsoft Teams: Shorter meeting URLs

Microsoft Teams is shortening meeting URLs for easier sharing across all platforms. The rollout starts in early May 2024 and will be completed by early July 2024. Existing URLs will still work; new URLs will have a simplified syntax. Organizations should check integrations that use URL parameters and update documentation. No admin action is required.

With the bookable desks feature in Teams, users can reserve desks upon arrival by plugging in to shared desks.
