New Policy: Turn Off Teams Meeting Feedback Surveys for Unauthenticated Users

We will be introducing the existing Teams Meetings feedback surveys (such as NPS) to unauthenticated users that join Teams Meetings. When an unauthenticated user joins a meeting originating from your organization, they may be eligible to receive a prompt to complete a feedback survey on their Microsoft Teams experience. We will be introducing a new Teams Meeting Configuration policy setting that will allow tenant admins to disable all Teams Meeting feedback surveys for unauthenticated users if needed.

Microsoft Teams: Intelligent Recap now available for Copilot users

Copilot users can access intelligent recap after meetings to get a summary of the meeting, including: personalized timeline markers to easily browse the recordings by when you joined or left, when a screen was shared, and when your name was mentioned; browse recordings by speakers, chapters, and topics; as well as access AI-generated meeting notes, tasks, and jump to name mentions in the transcript.

Microsoft Teams: UX improvements for Multi-Tenant Organization (MTO) users

This release features user experience improvements when Microsoft Teams users interact with users in another tenant that belongs to their organization (e.g., for conglomerates, as a result of mergers and acquisitions). Key changes include removing the possibility of split 1:1 chat threads, richer profile information, removal of the “External” label, and introducing support for an optional admin configurable label.

Breaking Security Change: Ability to chat with bots based on custom app policy

On January 31st, 2024, the ability to chat with bots that are not connected to a Microsoft Teams app (e.g. Azure and PVA bots that are not published as an app) will be blocked for users who are not assigned to an app setup policy which allows uploading custom apps.
