Teams Live Event capacity limit extension

Microsoft had previously instituted temporary capacity increases for Teams live events that were set to expire on December 31, 2023. This included increasing the Live Event capacity from 10,000 attendees to up to 20,000 attendees, increasing the concurrency limit from 15 to 50 simultaneous events, and increasing the Live Event duration from 4 hours to 16 hours. To ensure administrators have adequate time to train their user base, we are extending the timeline for these capacity limit increases for Teams Live Events to now expire on June 30, 2024.

Teams Live Events support in New Teams

As communicated in MC686187, after March 31, 2024, any classic Teams users that haven’t updated to new Teams, will be automatically updated to new Teams. New Teams will support Teams Live Events until its scheduled retirement on September 30th, 2024. Customers using Teams Live Events within new Teams should not expect any changes to the Attendee & Presenter experiences within new Teams. Teams Live Events Producers and Organizers, which currently cannot use new Teams, will have their capabilities brought to new Teams.

Microsoft Teams: Calendar notifications in Teams

Users can now triage the calendar notifications in their Activity Feed and will get notifications for meeting invites, updates, cancellations, and forwards (if the user is the meeting organizer). These notifications will show up as unread in the Activity Feed pane and will display the details when a user clicks on it.
