Microsoft Teams: Assign staff and set duration for on-demand Virtual Appointments (Premium)

Scheduling administrators and staff managing on-demand appointments can assign specific
staff members and set appointment duration to handle on-demand services. This ensures that when an on-demand appointment is requested, there is a designated staff member assigned to the appointment and a defined duration for the appointment is set. The designated staff member also receives a notification to attend the on-demand appointment.

Microsoft Teams: New Meeting Option and Meeting Policy “Turn off copying or forwarding of meeting chat” (Premium)

“Turn off copying or forwarding of meeting chat” is a new meeting option that gives meeting organizer the option to disable copying and sharing features on meeting chat messages for participants in order to reduce the risk of data leak. Once this restriction is enabled, meeting chat participants will not be able to copy chat messages using menu option or keyboard shortcut, forward messages or share messages to Outlook. There is also a new Meeting Policy setting in Teams admin center for admin to control whether user can see or use this feature in Meeting Options page. Admin can also set the default value for this meeting option in Meeting Templates they create.

Microsoft Teams: Azure protected voicemail on Teams App

Teams users will now have link to their Azure protected voicemails from the Teams App. Users will get notification for the voicemail on the Teams App and can open the attached link to access the voicemail on the web browser.

Specific People Link (PSL) Support for Collaborative Notes

With the launch of Collaborative Notes, we’re also improving the shareable link type that is created by Collaborative Notes to help make meetings more effective and secure. The new Collaborative Notes file will now support a Specific people link (PSL) which offers more controlled access than People in your organization link (CSL). This change will automatically align the Collaborative Notes file link type with customer’s default setup. Customers who previously had Collaborative Notes disabled due to lack of PSL support can now enable and use the feature.

Microsoft Graph API for SMS notifications in Virtual Appointments allows developers to programmatically send confirmation, update, reminder and cancellation SMS notifications to customers. The API support for SMS notifications is currently available in the United States and notifications can be sent to US phone numbers.

With the Teams device store experience inside the Teams app, customers can easily discover and purchase certified Teams devices for personal or shared use cases – headsets, web cameras, desk phones, Teams Rooms, and more.

Explore devices in categories, use search or filters to find desired device, and purchase all through the familiar Microsoft Teams interface. We are introducing a new experience for small businesses to purchase devices directly within Teams, businesses in the US and Canada will now be able to complete their purchase without leaving the app.

Microsoft Teams: Specific People Link support for Collaborative Notes

With the launch of Collaborative notes, we’re also improving the shareable link type that is created by Collaborative notes to help make meetings more effective and secure. The new Collaborative notes component will generate a Specific People Link (PSL) by default.

This link type offers more controlled access than Company Specific Link (CSL). This change also aligns with tenants who have their file-sharing policy set as Specific People. Tenants who previously had Collaborative notes disabled due to lack of PSL support can now enable and use the feature.
