Microsoft Teams: New Shared display mode for BYOD meeting rooms

The new shared display mode provides users the ability to extend their Teams meeting via a pop-out and view-only version of the stage onto the TV screen in BYOD meeting rooms. This mode ensures the meeting content is extended to the front of the room for others to see and provides the host the peace of mind their desktop is for their viewing only, minimizes the personal information that others in the room can see.

Additional Teams Meeting Templates Added to Outlook Teams Add-In

Virtual appointment, Webinar, and Town hall are Teams meeting templates that are accessible via the ‘New meeting’ dropdown menu in Teams Calendar App. We are now expanding how you can access these meeting templates by adding them to the meeting templates menu in the Outlook Windows client in the Teams Meeting Add-In. When in Outlook Calendar, select the dropdown menu next to the Teams meeting Add-In button to see the list of meeting templates now available. When a meeting template has been selected, the Teams App will open via a deeplink and directly open the meeting template scheduling form.

Microsoft Teams: Ability to set the availability by specific date in Shifts

Currently, we solely permit the frontline workers to establish daily recurring availability.?? With this new feature, we are enabling Frontline workers to set the availability for a specific date/time in addition to recurring availability.

Together mode and content share layout improvement

With the new layout, Together mode will be displayed under the shared content. The users will be able to see the participants in Together mode and shared content simultaneously in a completely new way. Full Together mode experience is available including raised hands, reactions and name labels.

Teams admin center: App centric management and changes to app permission policies

App centric management introduces new admin settings to control who in the tenant can install Teams apps. First, admins can set a default value for new apps that are published to the Teams app store. Second, admins can manage apps for users, groups, or everyone in the organization. This feature replaces the existing app permission policies and provides admins with the ability to manage access to the app individually. The app permission policies for existing customers are migrated to maintain existing app availability in the tenant.

Virtual Events – Green Room License

There are two new updates to the current Green Room feature experience.

  1. Green Room will be available on Office/Microsoft 365 Enterprise E1/E3/E5/ and Education A1/A3/A5 licenses. It will no longer need a Teams Premium license to be used in your organization’s meetings, webinars, and town halls.
  2. Green Room will be turned on by default for Teams webinars. When a webinar is joined, organizers and presenters will join the webinar in the Green Room and attendees will wait in the Waiting Room until the event starts.

Teams Webinar Graph APIs

Microsoft Teams is introducing a new set of Graph APIs that support business-to-business workflows.

These provide the ability to sync webinar data such as: attendee names, attendee duration, registration, and cancellations with a third-party platforms. Third-party systems such as CRMs and marketing tools can use this data to enrich and power their lead generation and more!
