Viva Pulse – New Viva Suite application available on July 20th

Viva Pulse is a new employee feedback experience that is available for use with your Viva Suite subscription. Viva Pulse empowers managers and project team leaders to request and receive feedback from their teams at any time. Managers and project leads can choose from research-based templates to quickly create a survey and send it to select inpiduals or groups. They can also track feedback to understand team sentiment over time and show teams they’re being heard by working together to take clear steps to address needs. Viva Pulse General Availability will be on July 20th, 2023.

When this will happen:

What Viva Suite users will see leading up to our General Availability on July 20th:

The Viva Pulse application will be immediately visible to all end users with a license assignment to the Viva Suite; however, the application will be inaccessible until our General Availability in July. If end users try to access Viva Pulse before the General Availability, then they will see a ‘No Access’ page, unless the user is a part of our Public Preview.

Viva Pulse will be accessible from the following surfaces:

  • Office.com apps list
  • Viva Home / Connections
  • Navigation in Microsoft Teams’ Viva apps
  • Microsoft Teams App Store

What Viva Suite users can access on and after our General Availability on July 20th:

After the General Availability in July, any user in your tenant with an active license assignment to the Viva Suite who tries to access Viva Pulse will have the Viva Pulse service plan and be able to use the app.

Viva Pulse will be accessible via both a Microsoft Teams app and a web experience, which can be accessed by visiting Viva Pulse.

How this will affect your organization:

You are receiving this message because your Microsoft Viva Suite license enables access to Viva Pulse capabilities. This update will not change your experience or impact any other parts of your Viva Suite or Microsoft 365 admin center.

As part of the Viva Suite license group, Viva Pulse has been automatically added to the list of services available to your organization. In addition, the service plan is enabled by default.

Furthermore, you may begin seeing Viva Pulse in the Service Health Dashboard as early as July 13th, which is during our Public Preview window. Please disregard until we reach our GA milestone on July 20th.

What you need to do to prepare:

  • When this change takes effect, please make note of the new service plan names for your administrative records and ensure that you update any relevant provisioning documentation, as needed.
  • For instructions on how to preinstall and pin the Teams app for users in your tenant, you can visit Set Up Viva Pulse for your organization.
  • As an Organization Admin, you have direct access to the Microsoft Viva Pulse admin experience, where you can configure Viva Pulse preferences specific to your organization. To learn more about the optional configurations, please visit Set Up in-app Viva Pulse experience.
  • You can enable Viva Pulse public preview today to let your organization start using it before general availability. To do so, global admins can go to the Viva Pulse page to enable public preview. The Viva Pulse Public Preview will end July 14th.
