Announcing Communication Compliance discrimination classifier (preview)

We’re rolling out a new trainable classifier for the Communication Compliance solution in the Microsoft 365 compliance center

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 81971.

When this will happen:

Rollout will begin in mid-July and is expected to be complete by mid-August.

How this will affect your organization:

Available as a new option in the Communication Compliance policy setup, the Discrimination (preview) trainable classifier aims to detect and triage explicit discriminatory language. You can select this classifier as a condition for matching content in Microsoft Teams chat or emails, for instance, in both new or existing Communication Compliance policies.

To make use of this preview feature, admins will need to explicitly configure a Communication Compliance policy and select the Discrimination (preview) trainable classifier as a condition to detect content matches.

By default, global administrators do not have access to Communication Compliance features.

You might want to notify appropriate users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as needed.
