Announcing General Availability for permanently delete users in Power Platform

We are pleased to announce the release of the ability to permanently delete users in Power Platform. You will now be able to delete and remove users with a disabled status. The rollout of this new feature has started and will be completed by June 2, 2023.

How this will affect your organization:

You are now able to permanently remove any previously deleted Azure AD users that were left in Power Platform with a disabled status. This will give you the opportunity to:

  • Comply with your record retention policy
  • Save on storage costs
  • Improve query system performance
  • Comply with privacy laws and regulations

What you need to do to prepare:

This capability needs to be enabled in existing environments. To enable the feature, go to your environment on the Power Platform Admin Center and go to Settings/Product/Features and enable the “Delete disabled users” switch. Now that the feature is enabled you can perform one of the following:

  • Delete individual users manually online via the Power Platform Admin Center
  • Create bulk deletion job to delete them on a schedule basis.
