General availability: Microsoft 365 now includes the core functionalities of Visio

In this feature update, we are adding Visio in Microsoft 365 commercial plans for your users at no additional cost. Visio in Microsoft 365 comes with a web app that offers core functionalities of Visio and allows users to create, edit, and share professional diagrams and integrates with a variety of Microsoft solutions, including Microsoft Teams, for a collaborative diagramming experience.

Microsoft 365 compliance center: Advanced eDiscovery – Announcing general availability of case limit enhancements

Currently available in public preview, this release adds support for large cases in Advanced eDiscovery, which increases the total amount of content that can be managed in a single Advanced eDiscovery case. This feature accommodates this increase in case size in response to time-sensitive, high-volume regulatory requests, investigations, and litigation in modern day regulated organizations.

Reminder: IE11 desktop application retires in 8 months on June 15, 2022 – Set up IE mode today (non-LTSC, non-Server)

As announced in MC257152 (May 2021) and MC288052 (Sept 2021), the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge. Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) provides legacy browser support within Microsoft Edge. Because of this, the IE11 desktop application will be retired on June 15, 2022. This means that the IE11 desktop application will no longer be supported and afterwards will redirect to Microsoft Edge if a user tries to access it.

With 8 months left before retirement, we highly recommend you start preparing for this multi-month transition today. The essential first step—Site Discovery—typically takes 3-4 weeks.

Ignoring Disable Anti Spyware Disable Antivirus on client devices (E3 and E5)

By design, Microsoft Defender Antivirus is automatically disabled when a 3rd party antivirus is present on the client. We are making an update to improve security by ignoring a legacy setting, DisableAntiSpyware (which disables Microsoft Defender Antivirus). This change will impact clients running Windows 10, version 1903 or higher with Microsoft Defender AV platform version 4.18.2108.4 and higher with E3 and E5 licenses.

Microsoft 365 Lighthouse service plan 1 and 2 added to Windows 365 Enterprise SKUs

New service plans called M365_Lighthouse_Plan1 and M365_Lighthouse_Plan2 were recently added to the Windows 365 Enterprise at the tenant level.  These new service plans are part of the Microsoft 365 Lighthouse for Microsoft CSP managed service provider partners supporting Microsoft 365 customers with fewer than 500 licenses.
