The Office 365 Service Communications API will soon be available via Microsoft Graph in Beta for Public Preview. This API provides access to Message Center and Service Health posts for your tenant.

MDE OS Architecture value change

OS Architecture values as they are exposed today across the system use a terminology that refers to Intel processors. In extending the coverage of Microsoft Defender for Endpoints (MDE) to additional processors and platforms, we’re aligning to a neutral terminology and changing OS Architecture values.

Note: This change may impact Advanced hunting saved queries, queries run through API or custom detections that may not return expected results after the change has been rolled out.

Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) desktop application retires on Windows 10 on June 15, 2022 (non-LTSC, non-Server)

Today we announced that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge. Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) provides legacy browser support within Microsoft Edge. Because of this, the IE11 desktop application will be retired on June 15, 2022. This means that the IE11 desktop application will no longer be supported and afterwards will redirect to Microsoft Edge if a user tries to access it.

Updates to U.S. Social Security Number sensitive information type definition for improved accuracy

To improve the accuracy of the “U.S. Social Security Number” (SSN) sensitive information type, we are making the following changes to its definition:

New Permissions management page in Microsoft 365 compliance center

You will soon see a new Permissions landing page within the Microsoft 365 compliance center from which admins will be able to view and assign user roles and create and modify custom role groups, activities currently managed within the legacy Office 365 Security & Compliance Center.

Recommended Files in Office: Excel for Microsoft 365, Word for Microsoft 365, PowerPoint for Microsoft 365

Microsoft Office displays a list of recommended files on the File tab, or start page, of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint on Windows. This list allows you to keep track of work around you and quickly access files with activity you value most such as edits, mentions, comments by people you interact with.

This feature uses machine learning to predict which files you’re most likely to want to work on next and presents those as a set of cards you can choose from. Only files that you have access to in OneDrive or SharePoint are suggested.

New Guide: Discover and configure sites that require IE mode

We’re releasing a new assistant for admins who want to configure Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) for Microsoft Edge. To detect the sites that need to use IE mode, many admins follow the Enterprise Site Discovery process. In this step-by-step assistant, you’ll get scripts to automate configuration of Enterprise Site Discovery, get IE mode recommendations from a cloud-based tool, and create an Enterprise Mode Site List that you’ll deploy to your users. This assistant will soon be available to Global Readers and Global Admins in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Records Management: Announcing public preview of multi-stage disposition review

Multi-stage disposition review in the Microsoft 365 Records Management solution enables you to create a tiered content disposition experience with up to five stages of review. Multiple reviewers can be added per stage, and reviewers will only see items assigned to them along with contextual information about the file.

View and manage feedback users are submitting to Microsoft about Microsoft 365 products

You’ll soon be able to view and manage the feedback that your users send to Microsoft about Microsoft 365 products. This feedback will appear in the Microsoft 365 admin center in the Product feedback node. This new experience will allow you to get transparency into your users’ experiences and sentiment with the Microsoft 365 products they’re using.
