Create and edit SharePoint pages with Copilot-powered AI

SharePoint page editors with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license will get an AI-powered authoring panel to create and edit pages using natural language prompts, leveraging existing Microsoft 365 content. The feature rolls out from April to June 2026, is enabled by default, and allows switching between AI and manual editing.

Agent Builder in Microsoft 365 Copilot: Updates to the agent creation experience

Microsoft 365 Copilot’s Agent Builder will have an updated, more intuitive agent creation experience starting late April 2026, improving clarity and real-time configuration without changing agent functionality, publishing, or admin controls. No action is required, but internal training updates are optional.

Copilot entry point changes in Excel

Excel’s Copilot entry points are being consolidated into a single, consistent location with the right-side chat pane as the primary interface. Rollout starts late April 2026 (worldwide) and October 2026 (GCC). No action is required; the feature remains on by default for licensed users.

General Availability: Microsoft Entra passkeys on Windows

Microsoft Entra passkeys on Windows are generally available from late April 2026, enabling passwordless, phishing-resistant sign-in on Windows devices without explicit admin opt-in. This supports corporate, personal, and shared devices, with control via Authentication Methods policies and Conditional Access. No action is needed unless blocking is desired.

Create charts on pages with AI in SharePoint

SharePoint introduces an AI-assisted Charts web part for page authors to create interactive charts using plain-language prompts. Rolling out May 2026, it requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot (Premium) license. Users can add, edit, and customize charts easily within SharePoint pages with existing permissions applying.

Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams: April 2026 industry-wide DigiCert Global Root CA (G1) distrust

Starting April 15, 2026, browsers and platforms will distrust DigiCert Global Root CA (G1). Microsoft 365 services use newer certificates, so most users won’t be affected. Legacy scenarios may face TLS errors. If issues arise, verify the certificate chain and contact Microsoft Support referencing the April 2026 distrust.

Microsoft Purview eDiscovery: Naming and description fields will restrict certain special characters

Starting mid-May 2026, Microsoft Purview eDiscovery will restrict the use of +, -, =, @, /, and * in naming and description fields for cases, holds, searches, and review sets. Existing entities remain unaffected unless edited, which will trigger validation. No admin action is required, but user communication is recommended.
