We’re bringing the power of Microsoft 365 Copilot directly into your daily file management experience in macOS. With this update, users can interact with Copilot in Finder to ask questions about their OneDrive files.
Currently you can create Purview Endpoint DLP policy and assign to specific users or user groups. This feature will allow you to create and assign policy based on both users and machines. You can use this feature to achieve different policies for same user on different Mac devices.
With this update, Risky AI usage policy template will support priority content. Customers can define Sensitive Info Types (SITs), Trainable Classifiers, Sensitivity Labels as priority content, and get alerted only when the activity matches the selected priority content. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.
Identify if an external user comes from a domain that is impersonating the recipient tenant’s own domains, during their initial contact with an enterprise user via Teams messages.
With the lite version of Copilot Studio in M365, users can now use Office skills like generating PowerPoint decks, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents by chatting with the agent. This helps users save time by completing commonly used tasks. These Office skills will come as a part of the “Generate documents, charts, and code” capability in Copilot Studio lite (formerly known as Code Interpreter).
Microsoft Purview introduces Classifier Simulation Mode, allowing admins to test custom classifiers on production data before publishing. Available via the compliance portal, it helps reduce false positives and improve performance. Rollout starts early November 2025, with health insights and optional simulation controls for admins.
Microsoft 365 Copilot will integrate with OneDrive files in macOS Finder starting mid-November 2025, allowing users with appropriate licenses to query file contents via a context menu. The feature is enabled by default, requires no admin setup, and is available across all Microsoft 365 environments.
Researcher and Analyst tools in M365 Copilot Chat remain available to all Copilot license users even if Copilot agents are disabled. Admin controls for agent access are decoupled, effective December 15, 2025. Admins should review access settings, update documentation, and inform support teams accordingly.
Starting December 12, 2025, OneNote for Windows desktop will update Copilot features to open in the Copilot Chat pane instead of separate windows or direct canvas insertion. This change applies to all users automatically, with no required action, and maintains enterprise grounding and compliance.
