Microsoft 365 admin center will introduce prepaid Capacity Packs for Copilot Chat, offering 25,000 messages/month to manage costs before pay-as-you-go charges. Rollout starts late September 2025. Features include usage monitoring, departmental allocation, automatic PAYG fallback, and no required admin action before rollout.

Microsoft 365 will deprecate legacy TLS cipher suites lacking forward secrecy on October 20, 2025, supporting only specified TLS 1.3 and 1.2 cipher suites. Organizations must update systems and configurations to maintain connectivity and security compliance.
The Skills agent, now in Microsoft 365 Copilot’s Frontier program, helps identify and develop skills, building skill-based teams across Teams, Surface, and Web. Powered by People Skills, it requires a Copilot license and admin deployment via the Copilot Control center. Rollout begins September 2025.
Viva Engage communities now have agents in Public Preview (from Sept 18, 2025) that draft AI-generated answers using community content. SharePoint grounding will enhance accuracy by late Sept. Admins can enable, configure auto-posting or review, and add SharePoint sites. General Availability is expected early 2026.
Microsoft Teams introduces Channel Agent, an AI-powered assistant for each channel that summarizes conversations, drafts status reports, assigns tasks via Planner, and answers questions. It changes agent licensing, adds intelligent actions, and allows admins to control site participation without individual feature setup.
