We are announcing the ability to build multistage approvals in Microsoft Copilot Studio. This feature reached public preview in May 2025 and will reach general availability on October 15, 2025.
This feature enables IT Administrators in Teams admin center to view and easily filter apps and agents by specific industry standards, certifications and compliance attributes such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, and more. This will help with more streamlined app evaluation workflows, enabling faster decisions and broader access to trusted apps across the organization.
Microsoft Teams Phone devices will have improved call transfer experience by mid-October 2025, enhancing speed, reliability, and UI clarity for blind and consult transfers across touch and non-touch devices. The feature is enabled by default with no admin setup needed. Users should be notified and trained accordingly.
Starting October 2025, Microsoft will automatically install the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on Windows devices with Microsoft 365 desktop apps, except in the EEA. The app appears in the Start menu, enabled by default, with admins able to opt out and prepare users accordingly.
Microsoft 365 is introducing an AI Admin Role for Copilot Search, enabling designated admins to manage AI-powered search across tenants. Rolling out worldwide mid-September 2025, it’s on by default for eligible licenses. Admin access is controlled via Microsoft Entra ID, enhancing governance and compliance monitoring.
Teams Premium will introduce “Manage what attendees see” for town halls, allowing organizers to customize layouts, backgrounds, theme colors, and name tags. Available from late October 2025, it applies to Windows, Mac, web, and Teams Rooms, enhancing attendee experience without requiring admin action before rollout.
Microsoft Defender for Office 365 will streamline the email entity page by opening emails in a shared tab with retained navigation and unique URLs. Rolling out from September to November 2025, this affects licensed security analysts and administrators, requiring no user action but may need helpdesk notification.
Microsoft Word’s eSignature feature will support free text fields starting October 2025, allowing users to collect custom signer information. This feature is on by default for tenants with eSignature enabled, requires no admin changes, and has no impact unless eSignature is active.
