Consult and merge into a meeting or group call via Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF)

Microsoft Teams will enable consulting and merging PSTN callers behind IVR or auto-attendants using DTMF tones into meetings starting January 2026. Users can navigate IVR via a new dialpad and merge external parties seamlessly. No admin action is needed; the feature is enabled by default.

Microsoft Teams: Join by code requires owner approval for private teams

Starting late 2025, Microsoft Teams will require owner approval for users joining private teams via join codes, aligning with join-by-link behavior. Public teams remain unaffected. Team owners should monitor requests and update documentation; no admin action is needed. This enhances governance and reduces unintended access.

Rate my call feedback experience update in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams will update the Rate My Call survey to a single-screen thumbs up/down system with optional problem tokens and comments, rolling out mid-November 2025. This change may increase reported poor call rates due to higher feedback capture, not service decline. Admins should monitor and adjust thresholds accordingly.

Power Apps – Deprecation of Maker Copilot in canvas apps

We are announcing the deprecation of the Edit your app with Copilot in Power Apps Studio (preview) in canvas apps. The deprecation will begin on January 6, 2026, and will remove the Maker Copilot chat sidecar (accessed by a Copilot button entry point in the header) from the Canvas App studio.

Microsoft Purview: Endpoint Data Loss Prevention- Always-on diagnostics for Windows endpoints (Phase 1)

This feature release ‘Always-on diagnostics’, captures critical diagnostic data from onboarded endpoint devices running on Windows OS for EDLP issue reporting. Comprehensive trace logs will be automatically recorded and stored locally on the devices, eliminating the need to reproduce issues when submitting investigation requests to Microsoft. It allows for the collection of detailed traces over extended periods (up to 90 days). While raising tickets to submit investigation requests to Microsoft regarding Microsoft Endpoint DLP, customers can share enhanced diagnostic information with Microsoft without needing to reproduce the exact scenario.

Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot: Discover and create agentic users from Teams and M365 Agent Store

Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot will introduce AI-powered Agentic Users—autonomous virtual colleagues with full organizational identities. Available from mid-November 2025, users can discover and request agent templates, with admins controlling creation and licensing. Agents interact via Teams, email, and meetings, enhancing productivity and learning over time.
