Microsoft Teams will update the sender email for channel guest invitations from noreply@microsoft.com to no-reply@teams.mail.microsoft between September and October 2025. This automatic change improves email delivery, requires no user action, and may need updates to email filtering or allow lists.
The Outlook Lite app will retire starting October 6, 2025, blocking new installs and requiring users to switch to the Outlook Mobile app, which offers enhanced features, security, and Microsoft 365 integration. No manual data migration is needed, and admins have control via Entra ID.
Microsoft is introducing Microsoft Graph APIs for Standard eDiscovery licenses, enabling automation of case, search, hold, data source, and export management. Public preview starts September 2025; general availability in November 2025. APIs require Purview pay-as-you-go billing, with 50GB free monthly and $10/GB thereafter.
Microsoft 365 Copilot app will introduce a Library feature by late September 2025, consolidating Copilot-generated images and Pages into one section. It replaces the Pages menu, is enabled by default for Copilot chat users, requires no admin action, and has no new compliance concerns.
Outlook for Web will add a “Get diagnostics” option under the Help tab by late October 2025, enabling users to send diagnostic data to Microsoft Support. The feature is enabled by default, manageable by admins via cloud policy, and aims to streamline support and troubleshooting.
Microsoft Purview DLP introduces opt-in User-Based Alert Aggregation, consolidating alerts by user within a set time window to improve security triage. Rolling out from September to November 2025, admins can enable it in the compliance portal to group rule match events per user, enhancing investigation efficiency.
Viva Engage will add an admin toggle (rolling out October 2025) to control the Move conversation feature. By default, all users can move conversations; turning the toggle off restricts this to specific roles like admins and corporate communicators. No action is needed unless restriction is desired.
Microsoft Purview Portal’s DLP Alerts page now offers a unified, faster view with event details accessible in one click, four new columns for enhanced context, and improved performance. Rollout starts late September 2025, requiring no admin preparation and supporting up to 50 events per alert on the main page.
Launch a pre-scoped Data Security Investigation (DSI) from an IRM case. When a data security admin identifies a risky user who needs deeper investigation, they can launch a pre-scoped investigation directly from an IRM case, allowing them to view content analysis related to that user and better assess post-incident data impact. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.
Easily access Copilot Chat from a side pane in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. This is available for Copilot Chat users with a Microsoft 365 license and for Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed users.
