Microsoft Teams on iPad now allows muting external audio devices and switching cameras via a long press on the camera icon. These features, rolling out now and enabled by default, enhance meeting control without requiring admin setup. Users should update their Teams app to access them.

Meeting Search in Microsoft Teams Desktop

Microsoft Teams Desktop will enhance meeting search by allowing users to find meetings by title or participant, join meetings, view recaps, RSVP, and access related chats and files. Features include a “Meeting” search filter and a dedicated tab, rolling out August 2025 with no admin action needed.

The Copilot Studio agents report will enhance insights with weekly data aggregation and active user counts, enabling faster performance monitoring. Microsoft Teams: “Summarize thread” replaces “Highlights from this conversation” in post/reply channels

Microsoft Teams will replace “Highlights from this conversation” with “Summarize Thread” in post/reply channels starting mid-August 2025. This new feature, enabled by default, summarizes conversations over 1000 characters for a consistent experience across channels, requiring no admin setup. Inform users and update training accordingly.

Outlook for iOS and Android: Send button relocated to reduce accidental sends

The Send button in Outlook mobile (iOS and Android) will move from the bottom toolbar to the top header in the compose view to reduce accidental sends. This change, rolling out from September 2025 to March 2026, is enabled by default and does not affect desktop or web clients.

Microsoft 365 Copilot: Source controls for Researcher Agent

Microsoft 365 Copilot’s Researcher Agent will gain Source Controls starting late August 2025, allowing licensed users to select specific sources (Web, Work, Graph entities) for research. This feature appears across Copilot apps, requires no admin action, and respects existing admin settings; connector support will come later.

[Copilot Extensibility] Admins can manage ownerless Copilot agents with new lifecycle controls

Admins will gain lifecycle controls to identify, review, delete, or block ownerless Copilot agents created by departed users, improving security and governance. The feature rolls out globally from late August to mid-September 2025, with owner assignment for agents coming in October. No prior configuration is needed.

Teams app versions 1.12 and earlier will no longer appear in Microsoft 365 admin center

Teams apps version 1.12 and earlier will be removed from the Microsoft 365 admin center’s Integrated apps view starting late August 2025 but remain fully manageable in the Teams admin center. No action is required, and user experience remains unchanged.
