Microsoft Edge: Improved Navigation to Extension Surfaces

To improve visibility and discoverability, Microsoft Edge is introducing two navigation improvements for extensions. First, if a user has at least one enabled extension, the puzzle icon will be persistent on the toolbar. Second, from the Settings and more menu, the Extensions option will allow users to reach edge://extensions and the Edge Add-ons Store directly.

Microsoft Entra | Streamlined Same-Device Number Matching and First Run Experience (FRX) in Microsoft Authenticator

Microsoft Authenticator will streamline same-device sign-ins by removing number entry, allowing users to simply confirm sign-in. The First Run Experience is improved by prioritizing Microsoft Entra accounts and highlighting QR code scanning. Rollout begins mid-September 2025 with no admin action required.

Microsoft Teams | Know Your Customer (KYC) onboarding required for new phone number requests

Starting August 2025, Teams admins must complete a one-time KYC onboarding in the Teams Admin Center with business info and documents before provisioning new phone numbers. The process, taking hours to two days, applies globally and does not affect existing numbers or require specific licenses.

Microsoft Viva Engage | Email sender domain migration from @yammer.com to @engage.mail.microsoft

Microsoft Viva Engage is changing its email sender domains from @yammer.com to @engage.mail.microsoft, starting August 2025 for U.S. tenants and completing by October 2025 globally. This update includes tenant-specific prefixes for enhanced security and requires admins to update any custom email rules or integrations referencing the old domains.

Outlook: Save an Event as a Draft on Android

You can save a meeting as a draft on your calendar if you aren’t ready to send the meeting invites. When composing an event with at least one attendee added, select dismiss and then select Save as a Draft. The draft event will show on your calendar as [Draft] along with the title of the event.
