Microsoft Teams: Usability and privacy improvements for live captions and live transcript in meetings

Introducing enhancements to live captions and live transcripts in Microsoft Teams to make meetings more intuitive, accessible, and privacy-focused. Live captions are now scrollable, allowing users to review past conversation with more flexibility and over a larger surface area. Next, copying captions is disabled by default to protect sensitive information and support compliance. Additionally, the live transcript panel won’t open automatically with features that trigger transcription—like recording, giving users greater control over their layout. Lastly, If transcription isn’t enabled, users who attempt to open the live transcript panel will see a banner suggesting they switch to live captions for real-time comprehension. These updates streamline the experience while supporting accessibility and privacy.

Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Continue editing in Outlook from Copilot Chat

When Copilot detects that you’re trying to write an email—like saying “Draft an email to my team thanking them for their hard work on Project K”—you’ll see an “Edit in Outlook” button. The ‘Edit in Outlook button will open a draft in Outlook, with the subject, message, and recipients filled in, so you can review and send it with ease.

Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro: New AI assistant for admins in the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal

Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro will introduce a new AI assistant for admins in the Pro Management portal, available mid to late June 2025. This chatbot answers data retrieval and product questions but cannot perform actions. A Teams Room Pro license is required. No admin action is needed before the rollout.

Microsoft Stream and Microsoft Clipchamp: Brand unification update for Microsoft 365 video

Microsoft is unifying Microsoft Stream and Microsoft Clipchamp under the Clipchamp brand for a seamless video experience in Microsoft 365. The rollout began in mid-December 2024 and will complete by late July 2025. The transition will not disrupt workflows, and no admin action is required.

Microsoft Viva Glint | User schema enhancements: Create and edit hierarchies

Admins will soon be able to create and edit hierarchies in Microsoft Viva Glint at any time from the Manage user attributes page. This feature, available from late June to early July 2025, requires a Viva Glint, Viva Suite, or Viva Workforce Analytics and Employee Feedback license. No immediate action is needed.
