New support for historical data uploads in Organizational Data in Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 now supports manual uploads of historical HR data in Organizational Data with an effective date toggle for accurate processing. This feature, rolling out late September to October 2025, enables correcting past errors and building user histories but requires admin activation and manual CSV uploads only.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat: Flow Builder now included in Copilot license

Flow Builder, a Microsoft 365 Copilot agent for creating automation flows via natural language, is now included in the $30 Copilot license starting September 29, 2025. It requires no extra cost, is ON by default, and needs AI Step and AI Prompt connectors in DLP policies.

Microsoft Copilot Studio: Agent ownership reassignment

Starting October 2025, Global and AI Administrators can reassign ownership of shared agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio and M365 Agents Toolkit to licensed users. The new owner gains full control and access; the previous owner loses all rights. Rollout occurs in two phases during October 2025.

Microsoft Outlook: Summarize email with Copilot chat

Outlook will introduce a Copilot chat feature to summarize emails with one click, available to Microsoft 365 Copilot license users across all platforms by November 2025. It requires no admin setup, respects existing policies, and aims to save users time and improve focus.

Microsoft Outlook: Declarative Agents in Copilot Chat coming to classic Outlook for Windows

Declarative Agents will be added to Copilot Chat in classic Outlook for Windows starting late October 2025, enabling customizable plugins and connectors. Enabled by default for Copilot license tenants, admins can manage agents via Microsoft 365 admin center. Advanced features require admin opt-in and billing setup.

By October 2025, Microsoft Copilot Studio will have an updated icon across its web and Microsoft 365 Copilot interfaces. This visual change aligns with the Microsoft 365 Copilot brand, affects all users, involves no functional changes, requires no admin action, and has no compliance impact.

Prevent/Fix (Detected) Important CAE Policies Causing calling and pairing related Failures

Teams Rooms on Android and Teams Phone devices face calling and pairing failures due to Continuous Access Evaluation (CAE) policies affecting token validity. To ensure device stability and reliable calling, disable CAE on all Conditional Access policies for these devices, as this does not significantly reduce security.

Trust Indicators- A new way of representing users outside your organization

Microsoft Teams will introduce Trust Indicators—visual badges showing if a user is external, a guest, or anonymous—to help identify participants and reduce oversharing. Rolling out from September 2025, this feature is on by default with no admin action needed. Admins should review documentation and inform support teams.

Microsoft Teams is transitioning to the secure cloud.microsoft domain by September 2025, enhancing security with Microsoft’s exclusive top-level domain. Users will be auto-redirected with no action needed. Admins should update references, educate users, and ensure network access to *.cloud.microsoft. Compliance impact is minimal.
