Microsoft Teams: Run SMB admin tasks faster with Microsoft 365 Admin Agent in Microsoft Teams

SMB Admins can use Microsoft 365 Admin Agent in Microsoft Teams to complete common admin tasks and get guidance on critical setup actions. Admin Agent can add users and assign licenses on behalf of the admin, as well as provide guidance on key SMB related topics such as organisation setup, security settings, and password resets—without leaving the Teams interface.

Microsoft Viva: Satisfaction rate metric for Microsoft 365 Copilot in the Copilot analytics dashboard

Microsoft 365 Copilot analytics dashboard will add a new satisfaction rate metric aggregating thumbs-up/down feedback from the past 28 days, visible in the Impact tab with filters. It rolls out worldwide March–April 2026, includes a 4-month data backfill, and requires no admin action.

Outlook Mobile: Follow a meeting option

Outlook Mobile will introduce a “Follow” option for meetings starting mid-March 2026, allowing users to stay informed without attending. It appears in the RSVP menu, is on by default, and prompts organizers to record meetings or send follow-ups. No admin action is required.

Retirement of -Credential parameter when connecting to Exchange Online PowerShell

Microsoft will retire the -Credential parameter in Exchange Online PowerShell cmdlets starting July 2026, requiring organizations to migrate scripts to modern authentication methods with MFA or app-only/managed identity authentication to avoid disruptions. This enhances security by eliminating legacy authentication.

Plan for Change: Windows Autopatch is enabling hotpatch updates by default

Starting May 2026, Windows Autopatch will enable hotpatch security updates by default for eligible Intune devices, speeding up security without restarts. An opt-out setting will be available from April 2026. Devices must meet prerequisites like enabling Virtualization-based Security to receive hotpatches.

Microsoft 365 Apps: Cloud Update – Enhanced Rollout Waves

New improvements are coming to the rollout wave functionality for Cloud Update. These enhancements will allow organizations to continue leveraging Microsoft Entra ID groups to set up rollout waves, with increased flexibility to configure more than the current limit of three waves. Additionally, admins will be able to assign custom delays between each wave, streamlining phased deployments and offering greater control over update distribution.
