Department Billing for Microsoft 365 Backup enables administrators to configure backups by granular scopes—such as departments, geographic locations, or member firms—and manage pay-as-you-go charges across multiple Azure subscriptions. With Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), department-specific backup administrators can be assigned, ensuring management control, and tailored backup management aligned to organizational boundaries.
The Aggregate parameter switch returns the folder level aggregated numbers instead of returning details at the item level. You don’t need to specify a value with this switch.
Using this switch significantly reduces the export time. To download the items in a folder, run this cmdlet for specific folders.
When you use this switch with the TagName, TagType and Workload parameters, the command returns the following information:
SiteUlrs: OneDrive and SharePoint.
UPNs: Exchange Online and Teams.
The count of items stamped with that tag.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Researcher and Copilot Studio now offer Anthropic models (Claude Opus 4.1 and Sonnet 4) alongside OpenAI models. Admin opt-in is required, with rollout starting September 24, 2025. Anthropic models are in preview, hosted externally, and governed by Anthropic’s terms, not Microsoft’s.
Microsoft Exchange Online will enable admins to assign the SMTP.SendAsApp role to applications via App RBAC, allowing group-based or scoped mailbox access. This replaces manual per-mailbox permissions, simplifying OAuth SMTP client onboarding. Rollout begins November 2025, with no end-user impact. Prepare by planning group-based access and updating documentation.
Microsoft Teams will introduce an admin setting to hide Teams call and meeting history from the native iOS dialer, enabled by default. Rolling out from October to December 2025 across regions, admins can toggle this in the Teams admin center to enhance privacy and user experience on iPhones and iPads.
