Microsoft Teams is introducing intelligent suggestions for call transfers on Teams Phone devices to streamline the process. This feature will roll out between July and September 2025, depending on the region. It will use recent call history and group associations to suggest relevant contacts, improving efficiency. No admin action is required. Ensure devices are updated to the latest version.
Microsoft 365 Copilot app for Mac will be available for download in late June 2025. Mac users can access AI-powered tools directly from the Dock. The app does not replace the web version. Organizations should prepare communications and update documentation for users.
Microsoft will no longer pre-install the Visual Creator agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat starting mid-July 2025. Users can still generate images in Copilot Chat and use the Create experience for broader content creation. No admin action is required, but notifying users and updating documentation is recommended.
The Researcher agent in the Microsoft 365 Copilot Prompt Box will be generally available starting July 18, 2025. It integrates deep research capabilities into Microsoft 365 apps, enhancing efficiency for complex research tasks. No admin action is required, but management is possible via the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat Copilot is available at no additional cost for Microsoft 365 DOD users who sign in with their Microsoft Entra account (no Microsoft 365 Copilot license required). Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat offers enterprise data protection (EDP), and secure AI chat designed for work, powered by the latest large language models with optional web grounding. The general availability of this release will be delivered to the users with web grounding OFF by default to meet US Government requirements. This will help protect sensitive information which should not leave the DOD compliance boundary.
Users will now have the ability to change the size of Teams notifications. The compact size takes up less space on the user’s screen and offers a clean, minimalist design.
We’re introducing a new capability in Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management to bypass retention policies and delete content from OneDrive and SharePoint Online before the hold or retention policy duration expires. This feature helps organizations manage Copilot-related artifacts—such as Teams recordings and transcripts—independently of OneDrive retention polices, so organizations can decide how long they want to keep and when to delete this content.
The feature includes support for simulation testing, audit, and disposition reviews, and introduces admin policy authoring flows. These flows are governed by Microsoft Purview role groups to enable the creation and enforcement of defensible deletion policies.
This feature makes it easy for users to find and access all files within a conversation thread. Instead of scrolling through each message to locate attachments, users can quickly view and manage all files in one place, accessed from the top of the conversation.
Quickly get back to important information without scrolling through long conversations. You can save messages, whether it is a post, a reply or chat message, and find them later in the Saved view in your Chat or Teams list. Click on a saved message to open the full conversation in the right pane, where you can review or reply directly.
Microsoft 365 will update default settings to enhance security by blocking legacy authentication protocols and requiring admin consent for third-party app access. Changes start mid-July 2025 and complete by August 2025. Organizations should assess configurations, notify stakeholders, update documentation, and configure the Admin Consent workflow.
