Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Two new data tables in Advanced hunting (preview)

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is introducing two new data tables, CampaignInfo and FileMaliciousContentInfo, in Advanced hunting. Public Preview starts in early June 2025, with General Availability in early July 2025. These tables will help SOC teams investigate email campaigns and malicious files. No admin action is required.

Microsoft Copilot in PowerPoint: Reference an Excel file when creating a presentation with Microsoft 365 Copilot

Users will be able to reference Excel files when creating presentations with Microsoft 365 Copilot in PowerPoint. A Copilot license is required. This feature will be available in June 2025 for PowerPoint on Windows, Mac, and the web. No admin action is needed before the rollout.

Microsoft Teams: Inclusive meeting enhancements for sign language users

Microsoft Teams is introducing Sign Language Mode to enhance meeting experiences for Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants. This feature will identify and visually distinguish interpreters, elevate sign language users to active speaker status, and ensure equal prominence with audio participants. Rollout begins in July 2025 for desktop and web platforms.

Microsoft 365 Copilot: People Skills is generally available

Microsoft 365 Copilot: People Skills is now generally available, enhancing user experience with AI-generated skill profiles, a customizable skills library, and skills-driven features across Microsoft 365 apps. The rollout requires no admin action and will be completed by mid-June 2025. Organizations can notify users and update documentation accordingly.

Updates to Hotpatch Setting in Windows Autopatch

Starting June 23, 2025, the Hotpatch setting will be enabled by default in new Quality Update policies for devices that meet the prerequisites. Existing policies remain unchanged. Devices must run Windows 11 Enterprise version 24H2 or later and be managed by Microsoft Intune. No immediate action is required.

Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Frontier and Microsoft agent user request approval flow in Microsoft 365 admin center

For Admins, agents in the Frontier program can be managed through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. They are listed under the agents & connectors tab in Copilot Control System, where you can view all agent inventory for your organization. Agents built by Microsoft and available in the Frontier program will be displayed in the Agent Store. This feature will support users to request these agents if blocked by organizational policies. Admins will have the opportunity to further approve and reject these user request.

Microsoft Teams: Usability and privacy improvements for live captions and live transcript in meetings

Introducing enhancements to live captions and live transcripts in Microsoft Teams to make meetings more intuitive, accessible, and privacy-focused. Live captions are now scrollable, allowing users to review past conversation with more flexibility and over a larger surface area. Next, copying captions is disabled by default to protect sensitive information and support compliance. Additionally, the live transcript panel won’t open automatically with features that trigger transcription—like recording, giving users greater control over their layout. Lastly, If transcription isn’t enabled, users who attempt to open the live transcript panel will see a banner suggesting they switch to live captions for real-time comprehension. These updates streamline the experience while supporting accessibility and privacy.
