We are announcing the ability to extend your agent by using the tools page to create, view, and add tools to existing agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio. This feature will reach general availability on July 3, 2025.
On July 1, 2025, the Microsoft 365 Live Event Assistance Program (LEAP) will become a paid service under Microsoft Unified, known as Teams Events Hosting Assistance. Enhanced search finds sites in your History even when you use a synonym, phrase, or typo. After this feature is turned on, sites you visit will be shown in enhanced history search results. An on-device model is trained using your data, which never leaves your device and is never sent to Microsoft. Admins can use the EdgeHistoryAISearchEnabled policy to disable this feature.
Microsoft Purview has introduced a new separate role for downloading the original evidence for endpoint. It is applicable when you try to download the evidence using Purview or XDR portal.
Microsoft Teams Admin Center will introduce a feature for remote log collection from users’ Teams clients on Windows and Mac devices, starting late June 2025. This tool allows certain admin roles to collect logs without user disruption. Organizations should update documentation and ensure authorized access. Compliance considerations apply.
Microsoft is modernizing the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel for Windows desktop apps to streamline updates and align with customer needs. The Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel Preview and Extended will be retired by 2025 and 2026, respectively. Organizations should migrate devices to other channels and plan for a twice-yearly update cycle.
Image generation in Microsoft 365 Copilot will be generally available from late June to late July 2025. Users with a Copilot license can generate images within Microsoft 365 apps. No admin action is required, but informing users and updating documentation is recommended. Compliance considerations involve AI data processing and interaction.
