This feature borrows the familiar custom permissions menu in Office and replaces the existing custom permissions UI in the Microsoft Purview Information Protection File Labeler. The new menu enables viewer, restricted editor, editor and owner permissions to be assigned to multiple groups at the same time.
Microsoft OneDrive will introduce the “Export as PDF” feature, allowing users to convert Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files to PDF starting mid-May 2025. The feature will be accessible via the three-dot menu or command bar and will require appropriate permissions and IRM settings. No admin action is needed for the rollout.
Admins will soon be able to select Communication Compliance policy alerts as indicators in Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management policies. This feature will roll out from late May to early July 2025. No action is required before the rollout, but admins should review configurations and notify relevant personnel.
The dashboard layout web part in Microsoft SharePoint will be available for all sites, including Team and Communication sites, starting late May 2025. This feature will be on by default and requires no action, but notifying users and updating documentation is recommended. More details are on Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 486832.
Security admins can use the Tenant Allow/Block List feature in the Microsoft Defender portal to block domains for Microsoft Teams.
Building on the Siri voice commands for iOS, this capability enables users to call someone or ask Copilot to summarize a meeting through Siri voice commands.
Copilot suggests how users should RSVP to meeting requests, based on meeting importance, availability, and working hours. With help from Copilot, users can streamline meeting request triaging, increase the number of triaged meetings, and reduce the time required for triaging.
Organizers & co-organizers can now download all event questions (within the past 28 days) —including status, source, timestamps, upvotes and reactions—in a .csv file for easy filtering, analysis, and sharing. The option to export questions is available by default, if there is at least one question posted, on the event page.
